Savory Oatmeal

You're likely used to oats with sweet toppings, like cinnamon and fruit. But just as other grains like rice can be prepared in sweet or savory versions, so can oats. Creamy, satisfying and unique, these savory oats are the perfect way to fuel your morning.

Ingredients
  

  • 1.5 cups oats
  • 2.5 cups water
  • 3/4 JUST egg
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder 
  • 1/4 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp parsley
  • 1/4 cup nutritional yeast 
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Toppings: tomatoes, veggie sausage, avocado, green onion, fresh herbs, hot sauce 

Instructions
 

  • Boil water. Add oats and spices and whisk to combine. Wait until thick, add JUST egg, and whisk to combine again. Cook until desired consistency.
  • Note: oatmeal will thicken as it cools.
